a way to be heard and to listen

to support and be supported and
                                                                 to create theater

Times Square Playwrights was founded in 2002 by writers and actors looking for a place to create theater. At each weekly meeting, writers bring scenes, which are then presented by TSP actors in cold readings. Then the writer is given feedback from the group. Several of our playwrights and actors have Broadway credits. A greater number have experienced Off Broadway while the majority have participated Off-Off Broadway in full productions, readings, and workshops. We also have a growing contingent of artists just starting out, and both playwrights and actors are welcomed to join our organization. You can see our membership roll with contact information on our web page dedicated to that purpose; also, a visit there will help show you how diverse our group is. For more information, please contact Tom Thornton, TSP co-founder and coordinator, here or at the email address below. Meanwhile, thanks for checking us out.
